Moving Beyond a Diagnosis

Welcome to Moving Beyond a Diagnosis, a practice dedicated to supporting families.  I'm Dita Obler, MS, LCGC, a licensed and board-certified genetic counselor based in Boston. Since 1999, I have partnered with families to create a safe environment to explore complex feelings, reactions, beliefs, values, and experiences. My experience includes eight years in the Boston Children's Hospital Cardiology Department (a Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospital), where families—who taught me the breadth and depth of their care needs—inspired my innovative approach to this private practice.

 

I received my Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Brandeis University and am affiliated with the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC), the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC), the American Counseling Association (ACA), the New England Regional Genetics Group (NERGG), and BCH/DFCI Pediatric Advanced Care Team.

 

At Moving Beyond a Diagnosis, my goal is to help you and your family cope with a complex medical diagnosis and develop strategies for moving forward and maximizing quality of life.
